Interview to Michiko Cosplay (๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ธ)

Who I am and what I do: I'm a girl of 22 (soon 23. God I'm getting old) South African years with a love of games and art of all kinds, a bit of the geek cliche.

How does it feel to have affection from thousands of fans ?
It's really very honorable. I wouldn't be anywhere without the support of my fan base, and it's a great honor to be able to bring joy to so many people.

How did you start and how long have you been in Cosplay ?
I've been a little over 2 years now. I think I loved the idea when I was younger, maybe the first time I played ffx-2 and I felt like I really needed some of those outfits in my life. The term "cosplay" was new to me when I attended my first convention about 4 years ago ... and the following year I started working on my first cosplay

Cosplayers that I admire?
God, the list is crazy! I would say that some of the ones that really inspire me are Kinpatsu cosplay (His armor skills), MangoSirene (his videos always motivate and inspire me), Alyson Tabitha (she's a regular chameleon and always makes a total transformation in cosplay) And then Amberskies Cosplay for being so sweet to her fanbase. Local cosplayers that I admire are also GiantShev cosplay, Vanity Madness cosplay, and Justine Kosuplay (sorry. I told you there were a lot!)

Advice for girls who want to cosplay even if they don't feel beautiful enough?
First of all, everyone is beautiful for all kinds of reasons. Christmas lights are beautiful, but so are flowers ... never let your own insecurities, or someone's comment stop you from cosplaying. We are creating fictional character costumes to express our love for them and the fandom- Do not let anything stop you. Go put on that cosplay and flaunt her things!

Do you do it all by yourself or do you buy it? Do you have help?
It depends on the cosplay. If it is a competition cosplay it will be totally from scratch. Lux was 100% from scratch, for example. If it is a more complex piece for which I do not have the ability, I think I will buy it (Suicide Squad Harley jacket and boots), and my help would consist of close friends.  Hikari no Michi cosplay and I often have sewing and craft days,  Light River Cosplay and Lynzaykat's crazy adventures are always there to motivate and inspire, and GiantShev cosplay and Vanity Insanity cosplay are always on standby when it comes to handling parts or creating something that could be intimidated

When did you discover that you liked cosplay?
I think the first time I was recognized in cosplay and just ... felt like all the hard work paid off.

More complex cosplay you have done ?
I think they are all a bit complex and challenging in their own sense ... but I think the propitious support my Tinkerbell (steampunk) jetpack was the worst. It has lights and the wings make a flap. She had never tried anything like this before. Lux's hood has been the most detailed yet with 141 embroidered brooches and 964 beads on it .... but I'm working on more complex things at the moment.

Character that you would like to characterize in the future?
I would love a cosplay of Yuna from final fantasy... preferably his summoner outfit, as it is one of the most beautiful stories for me. I'd also like a cosplay of Ashe from final fantasy 12 just to embody her for a while. I love how strong these two characters have been

What do you think of the criticism of the sexualization of cosplays?
Honestly ... I feel like it's just annoying. Nudity empowers some women, modesty empowers others. It is not for an outsider to tell us that we should live. I feel like if it makes you happy, do it. I'm going to cosplays a lot more "sexy" in the future as well.

Favorite materials and materials that are harder to work with?
I love, love, love working with worbla. It is incredibly expensive on this side of the world as we have to import it, but you can do a lot of it. The ones I find the hardest to work with so far would have to be stretch fabrics. I still have to get used to them but I will keep trying.

I recently had bombshell Raven where I needed to make underwear made of stretch fabric for it, and while I was trying on my cosplay, the whole side came loose. Thank good it was during a home fit test and not at the convention!

Makeup and hair? Does it take longer than usual?
undoubtedly! If you have a wig, you need twice or 3 times the makeup normally needed just to look decent on stage or on camera.

I think I answered everything. Sorry for the delayed response. I hope you have everything you need now!
