Interview to LvV artist (๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ)

¡Hi! If you agree, we would start with your introduction to our fans. Can you tell us who you are and what you do?
My name is Lacy Von Voorhees. I am a cosplayer, model and makeup artist.

How does it feel to have the affection of thousands of fans around the world?
It is very gratifying to know that people from all over the world are following my work. The positive feedback I get on my posts is very inspiring.

How did you start in the world of Cosplay? How long have you been in this hobby?
I've always been a bit of an anime nerd. It was about 6 years ago when I went to my first convention which was the NYCC. I had seen cosplay photos online and convention photos so I decided to do a Sucker Punch Babydoll cosplay and go. And from that day on, cosplay has been a great hobby of mine.

Are there any other cosplayers that you admire?
There are so many talented cosplayers that it is difficult to choose just one. I follow tons of cosplay pages so I am constantly seeing new work from cosplayers around the world.

What would you say to girls who want to cosplay, but don't dare because of embarrassment or don't feel beautiful?
I think cosplay is a great confidence booster for girls who are a bit shy or don't have the best self-esteem. I feel like cosplaying a character that you identify with gives you the opportunity to walk around and feel like a "superhero" during the day. So my advice is to just go out there in a costume, because it will really make you feel more confident in yourself.

What advice would you give to all those people who cosplay out of fear of 'what people say'?
In general, the cosplay community is very supportive. Yes, there will always be a "rude" person no matter where you go in life. But for the most part we are all just a bunch of nerds looking to have fun and help another cosplayer.

Do you do the cosplays all by yourself or do you buy them? Some of them seem to really have a lot of work to do. Is there someone to help you?
Yes to all 3 questions. I have cosplay that I have done by myself. I have 2 cosplays that I bought. Also, my mother is a seamstress and is always willing to help.

What is the most complex cosplay you have done so far?
Probably my blue pink cosplay. There were a lot of little details and trial and error with the accessories. After taking him to one with (Convention) once, I decided there were a lot of things to redo in that suit.

What character would you like to characterize in the future?
Currently on my list of future cosplays: Nausicaa, Cammy White, Rosalina and Stella from Interstella 5555

What do you think of the criticism about the sexualization of your cosplays?
Many female characters in anime, games, and comics have a very sexy style. I say that if you feel comfortable wearing the suit there is more power for you. People will always have something to say, no matter if it is sexy or conservative. You can just be happy and push enemies aside.

What are your favorite materials to work with and which are the most difficult? Do you have a story you want to share with us?
I'm not sure I can pick a favorite material. But I need a lot more practice with Worbla. I accidentally got a bit burned from the heat gun when I was making my head wings for my Morrigan cosplay.

What about makeup and hair? We must take a long time to prepare, right?
As a licensed hair and makeup professional this part is a lot of fun for me. I certainly observe that sometimes they take longer I enjoy every bit of this. Makeup is truly an art and it's so much fun being able to transform into real life versions of your favorite characters.
